Employee Recognition Committee – Honoring Retirees
With the help of Lynda Rich and Jane Westlake, members of the Employee Recognition Committee, Mayor Carnicelli and City Council along with the City Manager honored 13 retiring employees with a framed letter of commendation and a watch. Those honored were:
Gerry Cuff, Engineering Technician 32 years of service
Camille Dragone, Sr. Stenographer 25 years of service
Bernie Fronczek, Custodian 23 years of service
Richard Gurak, Signal Electrician 27 years of service
Elaine Harter, Deputy City Clerk 33 years of service
Mike Keogan, Laborer 24 years of service
Paul Mallon, Laborer 13 years of service
Vijay Mital, Director Planning and Economic Development 32 years of service
Jim Moore, Sr. Code Enforcement Officer 30 years of service
Al Pelc, Foreperson 29 years of service
Josephine Silliman, Registrar 28 years of service
Robert Tessoni, Assistant Fire Chief 29 years of service
Philip Yurco, Water Treatment Plant Operator 26 years of service
Auburn High School – Underage Drinking Forum – Video and Presentation
Mayor Carnicelli introduced Chuck Mitchell Auburn High School Principal and Andrea Fusco, Journalism Class Teacher. They spoke and introduced AHS Senior Kate Speach. Ms. Speach is also Vice President of Students against Destructive Behavior. Ms Speach presented a video she produced about underage drinking in high school to council. Ms. Speach answered Council’s questions. Mayor Carnicelli thanked her and offered the Council’s help in anyway.

First Reading of Ordinances and Local Laws – The City Clerk read the following into the record:
Local Law #3 of 2002 petitioning the State of New York and its Department of Economic Development to amend the City of Auburn Empire Zone.
Council briefly discusses the Local Law.
